Whats the cheapest you have ever serviced your Fabia VRS competition?

Featured Replies

Ok as ive just serviced my car myself and then worked out how much it cost i thought id ask whos managed to service their car the cheapest. No cheating by saying it was done free by the dealer as that probably because you paid for it when you brought the car. Winner gets a pat on the back...

Labour free as i did it myself. Parts i get trade.

Oil and filter (Comma PD oil)

Air filter

Fuel filter

Pollen filter

Brake fluid change (ok i had some left over from a previous job)

£48.46

oil around £2 a litre. :) So £10

oil filter around £5 (will be cheaper from now on after I bulk bought on Ebay)

pollen filter - £8 off Ebay

Fuel filter - hmm, not sure, mine might need doing soon, but say £20 to be pessimistic

Labour is usually my mate's rates at his garage, so say £15 to £20 at worst for oil change and fuel filter change. I can clean my BMC myself, and change the pollen filter myself.

[tots it up] so around £60 on average.

Cheapest ever was

£1.99 for oil filter and £15 for 5l of oil

never changed the pollen filter and the air filter is a green one.

Aye, but there's servicing, and there's doing what is meant to be done during a service.

A service schedule is more than lubricants and filters.

I might have kicked the tyres a couple of times. :D

am i still winning then. sure the big boys will be along soon to blow my price out the water

done mine for free , with all the relevant checks done

Think mine was somewhere in between £40 - £45. Dads mate has his own garage and that was a service according to VAG and book stamped too!

This thread just reminded me that i'm due another service.

I did a 40,000 mile service which is a fairly big one for cheap. I used to work for Skod so still get proper discount on everything I got:

Pollen Filter

Fuel Filter

Oil Filter

Genuine PD Oil (Fresh out the Quantum drum)

Didn't need airfilter due to green cotton

For £30 cash and I fitted it myself to the Skoda standard. Sweet!

And a bottle of Skod Screen wash too!

Did a cam belt change on my old Ford for £10.

My mate (who's got his own garage) is charging me £50 for doing a 30k service on the mrs Fabia vRS.

My 20k service cost me a total of ......................wait for it.....................£15 and i got my booked stamped with a good quality garage stamp.

That included:

Polen filter

Oil filter

Oil (obviously)

No air filter (as put a green cotton in week before)
