I have a lovely fleet of Opel Astra's here at work....... For that reason I could not have one as my own car. Not because I don't like them but I need something different when I sit in it than what I may have been driving all day. I have seen the sat nav in a mates Zafira 2 years ago and it cost him over a grand and not even touch screen, scrolling through the alphabet with steering wheel controls was hilariousness in itself to watch.

Just looking at UK spec for GTC, its a nice shape much improved on older ones we have but I am shocked that its heavier than the Octy II FL VRS CR TDI. Looks so much more compact, unless UK spec comes with more heavy toys as standard or something perhaps. Reviews say its handling is fantastic, we have Corsa's Mondeo and Astra's here and the Astra range all handle the best on winter rubber.

The reviews of it put it as class leader more or less on its handling! As for the spec comparisons, I have another view on ROI. You get a higher speced standard version but as I see it, it just means your forced to have the boxes already ticked that someone in UK and rest of EU could just select themselves = profits for dealers and everyone involved. It's not like its the same price as a lower speced UK one. Only real bonus one I have seen is with the last VRS, UK couldn't even pick folding mirrors as an option where it was allowed in ROI and the rest of the civilised world lol. My Octy if I bought it in Holland would have been €46000 for base model VRS before options. SOD that!

The first time I saw the Octavia II FL was 2 months after I ordered mine, I didn't even realise there had been a face lift, let alone sat in one. I had only ever sat in passenger seat of a standard 1.9 105bhp one for a lift the day after some mean sod bid my reserve price on ebay for my 2006 Fabia VRS :( and I was on way to collect a run around to do me until I got new Octy.

Nah when you specifically sell a car it's just a set charge like £30 or something was better value than Autotrader and it actually sold a yellow VRS is not the easiest thing to sell.
