Build number and parts

Trawling around the forum, I've yet to find this little gem...

How do i distinguish which code my Octavia is (AUM, AGU blahblah blah)?

2.0 GLXi , 2000 model.

Next question:

MAF's...... DGW put the price up as circa

The engine code is stamped on the engine near the top. It is also on the vehicle data sticker inside the front cover of the Service Schedule booklet and on a similar sticker on the boot floor. The 3 letter code immediately follows the engine output, eg 110KW ARX, and is probably AQY, APK or AZH. The 2.0 uses a different MAF to the 1.8T but the price is the same -

The price does not include fitting but does include VAT. :(

Double :( with :mad::mad: on top.......

Might have a wander round the scrappies at weekend, see if they've got one in...Still go down the cleaning route first though.....

cheers DGW

very useful to know that. Cheers Doug......

Just went outside to check the code.....I'm an AQY.....it's payday at end of week, so i think we all know what's coming next.......

....that's right, a visit to A & E with a screwdriver jabbed through my arm.......

Joe

Phone first to make sure they have one in stock.

They have them in stock on line, but you would pay delivery for mail order.

The telephone number is 01618778880, & if you give them at least 1 days notice they should have one for you.

Cheers

online is coming up with nothing.

I'll ring them towards end of this week, with a view to picking it up next week, get my mate down for a curry in exchange for supervising me breaking my Octy.....hohoho... ;)

ta very much Doug.

Joe

Go in as a vw golf, put in the 2.0 engine code and the part comes up.

If you go in as Skoda, then fill in the parts enquiry form, they will come back with the same number that I quoted earlier in the thread.

Also VAG are now doing exchange MAF sensors for around

the joys of platform sharing.............

That's good news, Ross. They are far too expensive given that they can almost be classed as a consumable.

Skoda have srted doing the refurb/recon units...... for about the same, once you take into account adding VA to europarts prices. I'd be looking at just over

As far as I know, it doesn't say on the web site that the Eurocarparts one is a refurb/exchange but a new Bosch one, so you get to keep your old one (If it turns out to be something else!!!)
