Fabia vRS/Seat Cupra 160/Polo GT

Featured Replies

Hi,

I currently run a 2004 Polo Sport TDi. I can also get a lease car, pondering between Fabia and Polo Gt or possibly the Seat. What should I get? The Polo is euro 1V compliant, therefore cheap on company car tax, even after the extra

Why won't she travel in it ???

Cheers

The usual Skoda Phobia!

The usual Skoda Phobia!

She'll soon change her mind.

I did a 100 mile trip at the weekend, 70% motorway miles and I averaged 60mpg. You can't argue with that can you.

I told my wife I was buying a Skoda and she didn't give two hoots, and even prefers it to my previous Polo tdi Sport.

A) it's cheaper to buy.

B) it's proving more economical

C) much better car to drive than the Polo

D) greater stability at speed

E) The wife prefers the seats :)

I can go on and on about this if you like :) some people will look down their nose at it but once they've been in the car it's just like any VAG motor (without the rattles) and everyone changes their perception of the brand once they feel the mid range punch of that superb diesel unit.

Why spend two/three grand more?

Cheers,

Polo 19 TDi did 75 mpg yesterday (according to trip computer), didn't go over 50 mind! Dash still rattles after only 9k miles!

Looks like vRS is the only way to go. Should be cheap to buy after 4 years 60k at end of the lease too.

J Clarkson gave vRS mega write up in yesterdays Sunday Times.

I also went for Xenons and side airbags, cruise and the six disc changer.

If I were to buy again I'd only go for the first two in the list above, safety over luxury. They are the items people will look for/want when you come to sell the car.

Remember the latest Fabia's also get the third three point seatbelt in the rear as standard so it'd also be worth going for the third rear headrest option (

is there any chance you can type this up into a new thread for those of use without the paper that or scan it in, I'm sure it would be very much appreciated by the majority of briskodians

Will type it in tomorrow. Haven't got a scanner.

How long is delivery on vRS?

i was advised 3 months by most skoda dealers but I asked my local dealer and he said he would get me one within 1 1/2 months so I don't know how he is managing that. Not that I'm too fussed as long as on fri 13th there is onewaiting to be picked up

I would say go with the Fabia. Bit biased I know, but it really is a great little car and a bargain price compared to the others. Easily mappable to give more than the Cupra too. ;)

You will be lucky to find anyone who has driven the Ibiza Cupra as they haven't yet released them to the market as far as I am aware.

plus ibiza cupras have silly silver wing mirrors as far as I'm aware which......... yes you've guessed it.. look silly

I've seen a Cupra 160 Tdi in my local dealer in Carlisle. Don't think they'll sell many at

I got my vRS in two weeks...best to talk to your local Skoda dealer to find out for sure though.
