what's the best way to clean up an oil spill??

i seem to recall using some funny pellets to absorb the oil in the dim and distant past but i cant find anybody that sells them???

any ideas folks:)

Last time I had an unfortunate oil spill (used some of that diesel in a can flushing stuff and the oil gushed out and overflowed the drain can) I used newspaper to try soak up as much as possible. I then sprayed degreaser/engine cleaner liberally on the patch and let it do it's work and rinsed it off. Wasn't perfect but didn't seem too bad a clean up job.

You could try kitty litter. At work we use granules to clean up oil spills (working for the council) Cant remember what it is called. You could try the local council depot and ask them for some granules.

Same as George, go to Sainsburys and get a huge bag of woodbase cat litter for £3.75. Should last ages, comes in a white bag that has kiddies drawing style graphics all over it.

I go to my local farm shop and buy a 30litre bag for £7.95

Works a treat

When I worked in a workshop the product we used was Spillsorb, long time ago though.
