I sorted the track rod ends by the way this weekend. Just need to book a trip to awesome gti for wheel alignment.

My current bonnet closes just fine, and after testing the safety it seems to work too! Must have barely shut it at all :(. So no need for zip ties... it was fine on the 300 miles of motorway driving I did yesterday

Traction control sounds like useless technology to me anyway (but I've never had a car with it).
