Yes it's a Vauxhall I know, but buy one 6 months old with a few thousand miles & should be able to pick one up for a fiver.

Hmmmmmm & it's going to be here around the same time too....................decisions, decisions.....

Yes it's a hard one isn't it :confused::rofl:

Style vs practicality, on one hand we have Sam Fox and on the other Nora Batty, still Nora does have the DSG up her sleeve.

Eh Dunc ;)

Yes but have you seen Sam Fox recently :slant: & Nora Batty is a bit unfair - it aint that bad, I just hope they give it a better ar5e than the saloon!

The Insignia could be as roomy as the Superb, the current Vectra estate boot is HUGE.

I agree. It looks nice on the outside, but the dash on the Insignia is a complete mess. The stereo alone has got nearly 40 buttons on it. What the hell are they all for?

'Sorry I ran over you, officer. I was trying to work out where the volume control was'.

Your right I've just had a look at some pics of the interior dash - looks like a 1950's super-computer

I know it will be the Superb Combi at the end of the day, I dont think I could own another Vauxhall after the last one I had, unless it really is THAT good.

I've owned several Vauxhalls in my time, and they haven't all been bad. They've certainly got the exterior right with the Insignia, but I still have a great deal of reservations about the ergonomics of the interior.

Skoda have got the right idea with the touchscreen. It reduces the physical button count, and if you've got the design of the onscreen controls wrong, you can simply change it with a software update. If you've screwed up a physical button layout, you're stuck with it.

I can honestly say that one of the biggest reasons I didn't go with an Audi this time, is down to the Columbus unit. The Audi navigation and media stuff is crap by comparison.

Bagpuss.

Really I kind of liked how they started putting a 2nd navi screen between the Spedo & the Tach a couple of years back...

Oh, I don't know this version, but if it's true, I think interesting option.

Nice to see someone building a useful estate rather than a pointless lifestyle "sport tourer" type thing without any actual space advantage. Škoda still upholding a degree of common sense. phew!

I've just spoken today to Skoda CS. They tell me the Superb Combi is due early 2010 too. Maybe this is deliberate because they'd rather customers went for a Superb Shatch or Octavia Estate Facelift than risk losing them to another brand. Auto Express reckon early 09. I'd like it to be so!!

It still looks like a barge, I like the Skoda Rover though.

I think you'll find that the Superb Estate will be on sale in the UK earlier than November.

James,

Do you know when price list will be published for Estate Superb?

As far as I'm aware Estate is not even in the system.

Let me know. I'm quite keen to get hold of one ;)
