Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

 I'd sooner just get a full bumper/bonnet respray when the chips get too bad than have one of those things fitted. :D

Never really seen the point in a car bra myself. You hate unsightly stone chips so much you attach something as hideous as that ^^ to the front of your car?! At least no-one will be looking at the stonechips...

I'm after just a bonnet bra. I had one on my golf and although it looked a bit funny, it did a fantastic job of protecting from stone chips.

why? ...... why?...... why?

looks like those cars in spyshots in magazines

just get a thin clear film applied to the front.

that is terrbile fair play, i did also just want one for the bonnet, the clear film sounds a good idea though might pop down to the place where they do the signs and window tinting and see what they say. Surely someone like autoglym or some car cleaning product firm have something out to help assist with the chips. I dont want to male my car look silly just wanna protect it as im keeping it like 3 years thats all and i dont really want to be having to fork out for a respray down the line

Euro :D

Looks alright on some things, but tbh, i wouldn't.

If your that worried, get the film over it - much better job and much more discreet!

That is 'kin grotesque!

That is 'kin grotesque!

Took me about 14 attempts to realise what you ment there!

Nasty things they are.

Things ALWAYS look better with the bra off.

Its blocking the grill a bit too!!

i have seen some hit the floor with the bra off!

They look great on little lupos and mark 4 golfs but the full front end looks terrible! Who would want that!

Don't bother, sod it all, who cares, paint it if it gets bad but honestly stonechips on any car are expected when you sell or trade

Having said that, I used to show a car and covered the front on the way to events just to stop me having to clean the bloody thing again when I arrived.

But car bra owners fall into 2 categories methinks:

1: people going for the euro look as mentioned above, and on some (such as a G VR6 round here) it looks ace (all depends if your a subscriber to a particular taste though, some people don't get rat, or OEM+ etc etc)

2: people who like to cosset and protect everything they own, so after they have taken the financial pain of the depreciation, they can sell it on, having never truly used it, in a remarkable condition to someone who can appreciate it. These people leave the cello screen cover on their mobile phones too, so as not to scratch the screen for the next owner........

I really dont get why you must respray an entire bonnet because of stone chips.

Dad does this for a living, touches in all mine, and if ANYONE can spot where he's done it (using the std dealer touch stick), then I'd give them the car! Even when I know where they were, I can never see any evidence.

Infact he did my father-in-laws heavily keyed side. He was told it needed a total side respray. Dad, palm crossed with some beer money, sorted it in 4 hours and reduced it to looking like a mild scratch. He ran out of time to resolve fully, and the car was traded in later that week.

It's all down to the right technique as dad says ;)

I've got a bra just like the one above for my Lupo.

They kill the paint if they're not put on *exactly* right (by rubbing) and they need the bonnet stops and lock adjusting to open up a gap so the bonnet will still shut with them on.

Depsite this, I still put mine on for shows (even if the trend is on the wain) as they do hide the stone chips better than anything else!

The bra and some new g60ies are all I've done to the Lupo and it looks the mutt's nuts, if + say so myself...

  • 3 months later...

Im seriously thinking of getting one of thses to travel down to ultimate dubs 09.

Or i might just make somthing similar.

Going to be getting the full front of mine painted before the show and it'd be crap to get any chips etc.

If i do end up getting one of these bras, it'll post some pictures. :D

They really are ****e !

Id rather just get the front end sprayed again than have of those on the car

Do these come with a warning sticker? "Put this on your VRS and look like a real tit."

Surely though if your fitting one for a VRS your going to need a sports bra?

Surely though if your fitting one for a VRS your going to need a sports bra?

Yeah

Keep it a bit more firm.

These are used in the Western desert states of the US, for obvious reasons, though they've all looked better than the one in the picture. Don't think even UK roads are do bad you'd need one.
