Wobbly noise on fabia VRS?

Featured Replies

Hey guys :)

I picked up my fabia VRS on friday and so far i'm loving it! Everytime I drive it I seem to spot something new lol

I've noticed though as I get used to the gearbox, sometimes when i depress the clutch when changing gear (more noticably 1st-2nd) I hear a little wobbly noise, kind of like somethings wobbling a bit? When I drive down my driveway too which is a bit bumpy i'm normaly in first but with the clutch down so it just rolls... and I hear it there too

My first thought was the exhaust wobbling a bit as its normally as the engines revving and the clutch goes down when moving... plus the bumps at slow speed would do it?

Anyone else ever heard it? Should I be worried?

its just had an MOT and cam belt/tensioner/water pump done so hopefully they'd of noticed anything really bad underneath (done about 70k).

Nobody? :(

Might be the clutch release bearing as it occurs when you depress the clutch.

To test this hypothesis, drive on smooth straight road at say 30 , put it into neutral and then press and relaese the clutch and see if the noise appears when you depress the peddle.

Will give that a try in a min :) thanks for the reply

I take it its not meant to make that noise?

Ok seems to definitely not be the clutch.

I rolled down some hills out of gear, clutch made 0 noise when depressing. infact, when out of gear, no accelerator just going over smallish bumps it made the noise. When in gear it also makes it when i let go of the accelerator and put it back on... possibly causing exhaust to move? If I nail the gear change perfectly I don't hear it at all

Makes me believe it could be the exhaust is a bit wobbly in the middle or something? Or at least something else

Gearbox mount - there is a fix which involes applying grease

I get this too.

Its nothing to worry about
