Cold air intake - Temp warning

Featured Replies

Don't know if this has already been discussed, hoping that there's an easy answer to this one!

Has anyone else who has fitted a Carbonio I.K or similar cold air intake had the temp warning light and annoying loud triple beep when starting up in the mornings, or is it just me? Doesn't matter if it's hot or cold outside, but strangely doesn't happen when I leave work. Only been fitted for a few weeks, so haven't sampled a properly cold day yet.

couldnt be that a sensor isnt plumbed in right could it.. !? dont know enough about these cars yet.

Not had that with my intake (ABD but v. similar to Carbonio) which has been in for >12 months now. Haven't heard of it happening on hear before sorry.

Did it only start after the kit was fitted?

Do you have the check engine light on?

Cheers Nigel26... I know even less, I'm glad for the first time in my life I can ask an expert to sort it rather than living with it. I ignored a temperature warning on my old car (Fiat Punto  )... cue head gasket giving up.

Lack of time hasn't allowed me to investigate anything else (Dave), not really sure what I should be looking for. Yes, has only started in past three weeks or so. Can't blame it on the British weather, sadly. No, check engine light isn't on I don't think.

Just wondering if I can ask the dealer to look at it under warranty at the service... Originally the sensor was faulty on the two test drives, assured it would be fixed before delivery. It was, sadly, so I'm guessing the intake is doing its job (too well!).

Still doesn't explain why it's a morning thing only though...

For reference mine has not and I have had same filter on for 15k+ miles and different filters have been on the car for the 30k miles before that.

You can ask, because you had a problem before you might be able to play the warranty card, if so thank your dealer. I have had work done despite parts very close to the area being far from OEM...an understanding dealer is the key. You can but ask...worse case if you think your not going to get very far...take filter off and see if it reoccurs. If it does, then pop it in, if it does not still pop it in but explain...

Well didn't have much planned for tomorrow, so if the skies stay good I'll have a squiz under the bonnet... Failing that, I'll leave it to the service and see if I can get them to check the sensor.

On another matter... what should my next move be? Neuspeed Turbo intake or some sort of cat-back exhaust? Suggestiosn welcome.

Check out the sticky in the performance section, that'll give you plenty of ideas. Biggest gains come from a re-map (
