Only between 1800 and 2200rpm ;)

happend to mine as well. I wanted to replace it with a custom SFS pipe but didn't have time to wait for them to make one. so went with the standard. Mine happend on the motorway... had to call recovery :(

Happened to me once when swmbo was driving the car. She came back saying "i think I've broke your car" lol

If I was carrying some tools to undo the splash tray then I could've fixed it at the roadside, however I had to drive 4-5 miles with about 2bhp... :D

Total PITA when it happens - changed as much of the OEM boost piping as I could. The standard clips are totally pants....

It's happened again since, so I've done a bit of a "pikey mod" - though not one of the famed ones from here.

I've put a plastic tie on the intercooler, a plastic tie on the pipework, and then a plastic tie top and bottom between the two, as tight as I can get them...

Just driven 67 miles quite hard and it seems to have solved the problem. All for about 50p :D

Hmm similar to what I did hehe ;)

Got to wait till mine is back on the road again though to find out if it's worked :D

I know I'll regret doing it when I have to take the thing off again and don't have anything to cut them with handy, :D

Ah yes, another one here who has that particular T-Shirt :)

i had tht too i pooed myself thinking the turbo had popped then limped it home with a bonfire burning behind me to find the pipe had come adrift.

upon further insection the top of it seemed loose abd rattly anyone else noticed this??

should it fit like this?

Mine came off of my 2.0 TDI Octavia yesterday with a loud pop. The clip from the intercooler has snapped. The RAC have put a temporary fix in place. (excellent service btw) but the seal has been remove as it became swolen with oil so off to the dealership on Monday for a new clip.

Mine don't pop off anymore. ;) Using 8 bar rated marine grade clips now.

My pipe popped - ripped actually - after having a new turbo fitted last month. Must have been the oil sucked through rotted the pipe. Only £90 for a 6" bend! For such a high pressured system the clips and interface seals are a very poor design. Trust my turbo to go within the 3yrs warranty but over the 60k limit.

lol had this happen to my other halfs turbo vec the other day. but it wasnt boost that did the deed, it was a tad too much speed over a massive speed bump!!

pulled the bottom end off and broke the clip, but she had spare clips and tools to sort it thanks to advice from our mechy :)

certainly papped ourselves thinking we'd done more serious damage!

I've wacked 3 big jubilee clips around the plastic pipework from the intercooler up to the EGR valve. Seems to hold it alright.

Were you in your silver VRS? Thought I recognised it from somewhere, have spotted yours in and around Hereford before... :)

Think i'm gonna replace the pipework for some stainless stuff.......mine popped off not that long ago and yeah.......new trousers please lol

If the boost pipe has come off or split would you get a surge effect ?

I had a loud pop/backfire this morning on my alhambra 130. Then it was boost and then none, boost and none......so on.

Hope it is a pipe !

Mine just died......zero power and a "touch" smokey lol
