Ta. Will try tomorrow.

Red Star via Adrain Flux quoted me £425 remapped Fabia Vrs and any cosmetic/filters/ARB's inc

Cant be bad

Matt

Zurich, heavily modified vRS with leather, 30K a year + the mrs with points for 500ish/per year. 4 years no claims

I just got what I think is a good deal through Brentacre - another company that specialises in modified cars. Certainly a lot cheaper than many others that I tried.

They also talk sense, drive modded cars themselves, and understand what you're on about - unlike the Indian call centre I spoke to earlier who Im fairly sure translated "anti roll bar" as "roll cage"

Brentacre

Adrian Flux

Chris Knott

HIC

Greenlight

Are the ones that spring to mind...

Steve

I got insured through Adrian Flux who got me a deal with NIG on a modifiers policy. The total was £270 with all my mods declared. Much cheaper than the nearest who wanted £100 more.

Chris knott undercut everyone on my astra by about 100 notes. They're a broker so deal with lots of insurers for you... very friendly and helpful on the phones which is always a plus.

Definitely worth a 5-10 minute phone call

OK thanks all. Will try all those mentioned tomorrow.

Let us know how you get on - it would be good to get a comparison of all of them

Will do.

While a good idea, it seems that it's a bit hit and miss as to who is the best provider. Seems to depend very much on age, location, driving history etc etc

Whoever manages to provide the best deal for one, might not be able to do the same for another. Anyway, all seem to provide a decent customer service (from what I've experienced and read anyway).

I agree - and would also suggest that the order you ring them in will have an effect.

I've certainly heard mention of some of these companies "competing" against each other.

I know its already been mentioned... but brentacre it was for me,

Adrian Flux - all NON BHP mods coverd with Like for Like replacement. This is a good thing to check, places like zurich and NU normaly will only replace with standard parts.

4 Years NCB

22 years old

Unlimieted millage

Plat breakdown cover

£500 Excess

£40 windscreen cover.

Bla Bla Bla

£560

OK. No joy for me at these.

No quote:

Brentacre-Claims history ((2x vandalism 1xtheft)

Greenlight-Don't insure Fabia/Octavia at all due to past claims performance.

Chris Knott (BHP over standard too high)

Quote:

Adrian Flux-£3000

HIC-£4000

So it's back to the drawing board unless anyone knows any more.

I hate to be pessimistic....

....... but have you considered a push bike?

Sorry - couldn't resist. Have you tried Car Insurance | Compare Car Insurance, Home Insurance, Van Insurance, Bike Insurance - Compare the Market They at least have an area on the quote request form where you can list mods. A large number of their panel of insurers will probably refuse to quote, but there may be the odd few that do.

Note: If you try this (or similar) sites and are spammed / telemarketed forever please don't blame me

Auto Trader insured my fabia with mods for £100 less than my renewal without mods would have been with post office.

Dunno if they would be any good to you? They didnt bat an eyelid when I rang them and said she was modified.

Thanks Andy but I'm not gonna bother. Maybe in a couple of years when I get some no-claims again.

It's just so fecking annoying when you work hard and can't have stuff you want because of the scum that roams our streets these days.

Have a read of why I haven't got any no-caims left.
