Discs & pads done!

Featured Replies

Got the rear discs and pads replaced last night on the Octy - all by my self. The bruises and cuts will heal in due course I'm sure :o

Thanks to Derek for the piston retractor

well done :-)

Nice one, great doing it yourself isn't it.

I had a few war wounds after doing mine.

How easy is this to do without a decent garage or working area? My Octy vRS needs a lot of work soon (40k service, brakes at rear and poss. front as well, cambelt, investigation of traction control warning light etc.) and I'd like to minimise what will certainly be considerable expenditure if I can. All the roads around me (N.E. London) have a serious camber which is putting me off the idea of jacking/axle stands/ramps. Haven't done much in the way of maintenance, and so am worried about bodging a job on my rather precious braking ability!

Brakes are easy, just a flatish surface required.

This will help:
