Nice  Can't wait for mine to be fitted :)

Maxidot from GB fitted yesterday at Mid Cornwall Cars at same time as second annual service, additional labour charge £30 + VAT.

Again, many thanks to all concerned in organising this Group Buy, especially VRStu.

Had mine fitted today at Autohaus Skoda, Northampton. The spanner wielding maniac (mechanic) said that he didn't realise that the maxidot could be retrofiitted to a none maxidot car, guess he learnt something today. :D

Glad to hear you got there in the end.

They should carry a Bloody Health Warning those things if i don't stop playing with it and staring at it i'm going to need some major body parts Retrofitting and i'm not just talking about the Skoda variety.

Craig.......

Cool pics soulrider, gotta get mine booked in soon, i'm getting cruise fitted at the same time. In your pics it shows a navigation page with a compass? Does this only work if you have proper nav fitted too?

Cheers

Hi OCT2VRS

Yes I've got MFD2 retrofitted you can pick them up cheap now with the columbus being available. If you have OEM equipment fitted it works with them, CD changer, MFD2, RNS510, Bluetooth ETC. Thats just the display it shows if you are viewing the map When you program a route in it even tells you when to turn and gives you a count down from about 500 yards and also name and number of the road eg (A56 Bury Road) it's superb i find myself looking at that more than the Sat Nav. You'll Love It Get It Booked In Mate And Get A Sat Nav 2.

That's quite true. Even if the MFD2 isn't the coolest thing around on OEM market at the moment. I'm still very much impressed how it integrates to the car. The maxidot navi functionality is VERY good and VERY cool :)

Right Gents,

I have my Maxi Dot installed now and apart from a couple of problems getting the mileage across (Not sure why). All seems to me working, i have all the functionality that i had before plus the Max Speed warning, but nothing else, i cant even see the Main menu? I was not expecting the same functionality as others but i was at least expecting to be able to get to some of the menus. Am i just being really dim? :o

Apart from the above it looks really good & the cruise control works great.:D

When you say can't see the manin menu what can't you see??

It's quite difficult to imagine without seeing the car, did the guy fitting it ensure everything was coded correctly and clear of fault codes?

By pressing the up downt buttons i can scroll through the MPG, Ave speed etc and by pressing the reset button i can still toggle from list 1 & 2 but thats all that i can do. When i say main menu, i mean the menu screen that is shown on soul riders Pics above.

Press and hold the up button.

I knew it was just me being a muppet!!!!!!!!

Just tried it, i dont have a whole lot of functionality but, i can see all that i was expecting to see!

THANK YOU STU!

No problem, glad you have it sorted.

Dare I say -

:rofl::rofl::P:thumbup:

I know! I Know!

The worst bit is that i have lost count of the times that i have used the RTFM line on customers that have rung me asking for help when their machine wont work! :o

THANKS AGAIN!

Any likelihood of any more Maxidots becoming available - fancy one in my Mk 2 VRS, especially if they only cost £30 + VAT to fit ??

Also interested in a Maxidot if there is any prospect of another group buy on these (Mk 2 vRS TFSI).

Indeed I'd be in for one next time

I think the main reason there isn't another GB on this at the moment is there are no good price breaks.

These people:

www.skodateile.cz

Will sell you a Maxidot dash pod.

I paid €262,31 including shipping.

This was for a Maxidot Mk2. vRS, TFSI in MPH

So that is around £230 all in.

I bank transfered the money over last Wednesday and my dash pod arrived yesterday (Monday).

As for fitting - some main dealers will, some won't.

My local will and are charging me an hours labour.

Another option to look out for, is what I have done. Checking skoda breakers. I have just bought the clocks out of a VRS for £75 as I noticed it had maxidot

Worth keeping your eyes peeled

I thought there was an issue with dashpods only being able to be "coded once"?

When I spoke to my main dealer about having Maxidot retrofitted they said yes, so long as it was a new pod and there had been no attempt to code it previously.

Who did you speak to or email over there? The only units I can see are KPH. Could you PM the details if possible. Regards ~ Simon

Hi there,

I spoke to somebody called "Ales Prochazka" on the main [email protected] email address.

The item code for the item you want (assuming TFSI, MPH) is:

Mk2 Octavia VRS Petrol in Miles Per Hour (1Z0 920 942C) - €242,31, in stock.

They then charge €20 for delivery.

I was asked to do a bank transfer for the full amount - he emailed me all the details I needed.

I called into my bank (NatWest) and spent around 15 minutes filling in a form.

I received the new dashpod just under a week later.

*They don't list the MPH version on the website, so you will need to contact them directly
