Extending the warranty on a Mk2 Octavia?

Featured Replies

My manufacturers warranty has just over 1000 miles left on it (the car is 28 months old) and I'm not sure what to do.

One option is to keep it for at least another year and get some sort of extended warranty for it.

Do Skoda offer anything , and if so is it any good.

Can anyone recommend (or indeed slag off) any third party warranty providers?

I'm guessing on about £300 for a years reasonably comprehensive cover which might just be better saved to pay any extra bills.

At least my turbo is new so that won't be an issue

I had extended warranty on my Toldeo (now can't as mileage is too high) but cost me around £190 for a years cover inc turbo, ac and abs and never needed it. I worked out that for the 3yrs I had it I could have covered most repairs really for the same price. Catch 22 I guess.

I had my car with Warranty Direct iirc

£300 for a years about as much as WD will cover with work done at main dealer :)

If you get a new Skoda warranty, they will charge for diagnostic checks , and make sure they inform Skoda Assitance ;)
