Peugeot 306 help

Featured Replies

Hi,

In March my Dad replaced the ageing (K-reg) Ford Escort Estate with a nice '06' reg Peugeot 306.

In recent weeks I have been noticing that, when the vehicle is going along and the driver - either myself or my Dad - takes their right foot off the accelerator then, once the vehicle gets down to a certain speed there is a rapid ticking noise that comes from the front of the car.

The noise never makes itself known when the accelerator is pressed down.

But if anyone remembers the TV game show "Wheel of Fortune" it sounds like the ticking that could be heard when the presenter / player spun the wheel, only the noise on the car is quieter than that.

My Dad says he can't hear it but I can. Also my Mum says she can hear something as well.

Does anyone have an idea as to what the cause of that ticking noise might possibly be?

Cheers.

Dave

have you got a nail in the tyre or it could be the speedo as it been out at sometime?

A good possibility. I, however, suspected something in the mechanism of the front wheel.

Do you mean 307 if it's on an 06 plate?

I agree it's most likely to be a stone or item in the tyre so that's the first port of call.
