Bike Carrier for Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

Hi.Can anyone tell me if there are any bike carriers available for the Octavia vRS that hold 3 bikes ?I want to be sure that whatever I get clears the rear spoiler.Cheers.Matt

Estate or Hatch?

Either way I use Roofbox.co.uk for my bikes and you can get 4 onto the one I've got.

Other alternative is tow ball style. I'm not too keen on the high level hatch type ones.

Cheers

I have a Thule towball mounted carrier for my bikes (non Skoda car) which is extremely solid and the whole thing is very well built. You don’t have to worry about the thing coming of the roof at high speed when cornering or going over rough roads. I don’t notice any difference in economy either, which I did when I had a roof mounted carrying system many years ago. It also has a natty drop forward release so you can open the hatch when your bikes are mounted. The only limiting factor might be the maximum safe weight you can carry on your towbar (once fitted). I am a keen cyclist and think this is the best system I have used so far.

Here is one on a Disco (not my bike or car) it's a 3 bike carrier

Looks good. Cost was main factor since I got my roof system for superb in knowledge I'd be changing car and didn't fancy the expense of towbar since this is all I'd be using it for. On something like a Landrover makes great sense since its so high to get to roof anyway.

Noticed more in way of reduced efficiency on smaller engined octy than i did on the superb, although if you keep it round 60 I can still return 50mpg, so maybe a 10% drop. Get to 70 and there is a bigger decrease.

Mine is fitted to the back of a 1 series BMW:thumbup:

I am looking at getting a towbar fitted and a thule carrier (not sure which one yet) for my vRS hatch, as it is going to be a damn sight easier than launching 3 bikes in the boot!
