Low washer fluid warning

Featured Replies

Does the Octy vRS have one? I hoped it would seeing as my old Fabia used to warn me when it was running low or is this just another thing they have removed to save money?

There is defo one on the Elegance and the L&K so I would imagine the VRS should have low screenwash warning also. And if you have maxidot you get a nice poilte message coming instead of a little warning light...

You only have the low washer fluid warning if you have headlamp washers.

The low level alarm is not standard on a VRS (only get it with Xenons I believe).

apologies for that. Can't see the sense in leaving the low level warning out. (wife even has it on her 6 year old Fabia!!).

I have vRS with Xenons/headlamp wash and maxidot - I get a warning.

Don't know about 'standard' car.

Yup my vRS with Xenons also has the warning

Like I said

VRS:

Get the xenons = get the headlamp washers

&

get the headlamp washers = get the low level warning

Elegance, L&K:

get the headlamp washers = get the low level warning

i have this warning on my car, but yes i have xenons too. i have a feeling its all cars with maxidot display.

Mine doesnt have it. No xenons or washers but has maxidot.

It would be nice to be able to acknowledge to warning so it goes off (at least until you next turn the engine off/on) as it is annoying when it keeps flashing.

'Tis easy

Acknowledge thus:

Stop car

Pull lever (down by the throttle pedal)

Open bonnet

Remove filler cap

Add water

Replace filler cap

:rolleyes::D:rolleyes::D

BTW Mine doesn't flash - just gives a single "bong" and lights up - so does the low washer fluid warning alarm :D

Even better, check and fill up the washer bottle once a week.

Never get bonged.

I'm glad you said stop car as the first instruction - I've tried topping up whilst doing 70 on the M1 and it ain't easy!

Roller blades help and cruise control is essential if you are alone.

Good idea, i never thought of that :rofl:

To understand why the vRS does not have this as standard, you need to look at the basic spec (which is really quite basic) and then look at the available options! That's why a vRS appears at first to be good value, but when you add all the options actually is quite expensive!!

That was my conclusion when comparing specs vRS CR DSG Estate to L&K TDi DSG Estate - I know they are different types of car, but though I would have liked the vRS, a fully loaded vRS will not have the same residual as a stanard L&K that has all the toys!
