rattle at idle.

Featured Replies

Hi there, I'm just wondering if anyone can help me. Over the past few weeks I have gained a rattle on my 1.6 slxi felicia. It only happens at idle and seems to be coming from the cambelt side of the motor. When i put pressure on the alternator the rattle stops. Does this sound like the Water pump bearings and if so, am I best off getting the cambelt changed at the same time as the pump? (I've had the car 4 years and it's not been done in that time anyway)

Any help would be gratefully received.

Cheers,

Mike

Hiya.

Dunno, but I'm sure someone on the Favorit, Felicia et al forum will.

Welcome. :) I have moved your query to the Felicia forum.

i can't see how putting pressure on the alternator would make any difference to the water pump, but you certainly are due a belt change anyhow

What mileage?

I haven't heard any rattles from mine when the engine idles.

belt change for mine next year at 120k miles
