Thanks for that. Not had the K1 dynoed yet so looking forward to it. If there is anyone travelling from Teeside please get in touch and we will convoy down.

Look forward to seeing it run

Roll up, roll up ladies and gents, for the 3rd annual Wardy RR Day :D

It's become somewhat of a tradition, having one at this time of year. Started off as me being curious as to what difference certain mods had made, and trying to keep the test conditions as static as possible. So we'll stick to October/November time.

Some info on the road from Awesome's website: LINK

The day will be run in the usual way, for those that have been before. 9am start and we'll limit the list to 20 cars, with a reserves list. Any car can run, it's not limited to Skoda/VAG only. 4WD can also be accommodated. The shop will also be open, so you can be tempted by the delights and treats that lie within ;)

Cost: £35 all in for 2wd and £45 all in for 4wd

And Sarah has kindly arranged for the lady with the burger van to be in attendance :D

Any questions, please ask away.

Cheers,

Steve

:rubchin: may need to come to another rooling road day then

No , sorry yes we have a few clever guys here

Sarah

Right, confirmed. As long as I'm not working this particular weekend (which I shouldn't be, but then I can always swap) I'll be there and running... I had to pull out the Midlands one due to lack of funds, but I can save my pennies if it's in November!

Anyway, onto serious business... the Friday night! I'll probably stay somewhere up in/near Manchester so I'll def be around. Any other takers?

25mins away?

Travelodge - Search and book

I'd pay the £29 for Traffod Park. Its across the road form the Trafford Centre for shops/food/drinks and obviously closer to Manchester (~6 miles) for larging it and only 5 mins from Awesome

JMTPW :)

edit: Or the Sportcity one that I think Lummox used for the last RR day:

Travelodge - Search and book

good for friday night in Manc, wrong side of Manc for Awesome.

Edited by daiking

Thanks mate much appreciated, I was sort of looking at the cheapest one and that one 25 mins away looked alright, but will look into these later when back from work and book something, suppose if I'm bringing SWMBO the trafford centre would appeal and also how close is Granada studios??

This is just my (local) opinion on the travelodge locations for anyone who's travelling up here, I don't know about the actual hotels themselves.

If cost is the bottom line, then the Lymm Serivices one (£19 no refund rate) is easy to get to, not that far away and also easy to get to Awesome but I can think of better places to stay than a motorway services plus you're out in the sticks.

The Trafford Park one (£29 no refund rate) is by a JJB Soccerdome, "Chill Factor" indoor skiing, big David Lloyd health centre and 10mins (at most) walk to the Trafford Centre, where the shops will be open till 10pm on the Friday night (8pm on Sat) along with bar/restaurants and cinema till a bit later, a 24hr Asda and Drive Thru Krispy Kreme etc. Its just off the motorway and easy to get to Awesome down the A57. Its 6 or so miles out of the city centre so also close enough for a night out in Manchester, where its possible to bus in from TC (£2.50ish) and get a taxi back (£15ish I guess)

Maybe Lummox or someone else can give some feedback of the Sport City/Eastlands Travelodge from the RR day in July. I assume its the same one going by the non-refundable cheap rate. Not as easy to find or get to Awesome from there but closer to the city centre and all its attractions if that's what you want. Its acroos the road from a big cinema with somewhere to eat.

Granada Studios is on the edge of the city centre (~5miles from TC) but AFAIK they haven't done the studio tours for years unless they've restarted and no-one told me :o

Just a shame that the Xmas market doesn't start till the 18th Nov.
