I didn't think it ever had chance to get dirty ;)

It does get a little dusty while stood in the garage. :)

Even more shocking is I might have to put some petrol in it.

I've managed to book into a travel lodge in Warrington way and only 13 mins from awesome, tried the trafford park one but the price seemed to go up.

Let's hope it's a good day and looking forward to meeting some new faces.

Cheers

Either way, its close enough. the good thing is the A57 that takes you to Awesome from Warrington also takes you close to the Trafford Centre so you can still easily do that :)

Cheers,

List of 25 definates would be superb.

If we do the 25 cars, We'll have to play it by ear to see if we can get any of the reserves on the rollers.

Cheers, Al.

Yes, please amend the list above to put yourself in a confirmed position. I will ask Matt if he also wishes to confirm his place on the day.

Is this for a Friday evening pre-meet? Might be better starting a separate thread in the NW meets section, nearer the time?

I'll certainly see if I can make it, at least for a few :)

Cheers,

Steve

I said I'd come up on condition of a Friday night meet up!

  • Author

Don't say that Tom, you'll put people off ;)

:P

Oooh, looks like lots of £19 rooms in Travelodges in the the area. Can someone recommend me a near one please? :)

Looks like someone should sort out a pre-meet meet!

HARSH! (but probably true) :o

Just found out about this from Mr Wardy. :D

If there are any places left on the rollers you can count me in..... I'll finally get to see what my car has to offer. I'm meant to be working this weekend but i'll book the Saturday off. :D

How much are we looking at cost wise?

Cheers

Dave.

I did :P (Prices might be better at Trafford now)

This is just my (local) opinion on the travelodge locations for anyone who's travelling up here, I don't know about the actual hotels themselves.

If cost is the bottom line, then the Lymm Serivices one (£19 no refund rate) is easy to get to, not that far away and also easy to get to Awesome but I can think of better places to stay than a motorway services plus you're out in the sticks.

The Trafford Park one (£29 no refund rate) is by a JJB Soccerdome, "Chill Factor" indoor skiing, big David Lloyd health centre and 10mins (at most) walk to the Trafford Centre, where the shops will be open till 10pm on the Friday night (8pm on Sat) along with bar/restaurants and cinema till a bit later, a 24hr Asda and Drive Thru Krispy Kreme etc. Its just off the motorway and easy to get to Awesome down the A57. Its 6 or so miles out of the city centre so also close enough for a night out in Manchester, where its possible to bus in from TC (£2.50ish) and get a taxi back (£15ish I guess)

Maybe Lummox or someone else can give some feedback of the Sport City/Eastlands Travelodge from the RR day in July. I assume its the same one going by the non-refundable cheap rate. Not as easy to find or get to Awesome from there but closer to the city centre and all its attractions if that's what you want. Its acroos the road from a big cinema with somewhere to eat.

Granada Studios is on the edge of the city centre (~5miles from TC) but AFAIK they haven't done the studio tours for years unless they've restarted and no-one told me :o

Just a shame that the Xmas market doesn't start till the 18th Nov.
