My Octy has passed its first MOT

Featured Replies

I must admit I as worried, but I nead not have been.

The octy passed its first MOT today, no advisories or anything. The reason for being worried is that although only 3 years old, it has nearly 6 years worth of mileage under its belt.

Now to look forward to 12 months of worry free motoring.

What was the smoke reading

Your car is pretty well looked after and in good condition Manny, I wouldn't have expected any issues.

What was the smoke reading

Smoke reading was 0.94 m-1

Similar story, mine has done 78,000 in 3 years the smoke reading was .58 and nothing needed attention. Got them to change front pads though as still on original and getting low . I had tried to change them but couldnt shift the wheel nuts. Gorrilla tightened at last tyre change.

12 months of worry free motoring, I am sorry to disillusion you but the MOT is only good on the day the test is carried out. Tomorrow your headlamp bulb may blow this would class as a fail!

My car passed its 23rd MOT test yesterday with only 4 advisories, now to try and source an elusive suspension arm to sort the worst one out.

mines in next monday and has just clicked over the 40,000 mark. fingers crossed cos im skint!

How many miles have you done now Manny? Just wondering what you consider to be 6yrs worth of mileage? An average motorist's 12k perhaps? So 72k?

Steve, mileage is 60K miles. Still on original brakes, now on 3rd set of tyres.
