I have 2 very different queries on my 2007 Octavia estate 1.9TDi.

The first is what kind of oil is used in the variable service regime. I have read and re-read to leaflet and been onto the shell helix website but am still not sure whether I should buy to keep my levels topped up?

The second query is whether a Tom tom One Europe v4 will work as a windscreen mounted system as I have read some sat navs systems don't work through heat reflective screens but don't know if my Octavia has this or not?

The oil must be VW spefication, there is a useful list on this website complied by Denis, one of the moderators. You can buy 1 litre cans from VAG dealers which often come with a nice little PVC puch and fits perfectly in the side storage near the CD changer.

You won't have any issues with the screen, it isn't reflective.
