Roomster Temp Control

Featured Replies

I have a longstanding issue with my Roomster 2 1.6.

The fault is intermittent and materialises in two ways

1) Very hot air is blown out of the vents regardless of the temperature setting. This can happen with or without the Air-conditioning on and appears to be independent of the vents selected. The burst of hot air can last for approximately 5 to 20 seconds though on one or two occasions it has been experienced for a longer period. This is the most common symptom.

2) Cold air is blown out of the vents regardless of the temperature setting. This tends to last longer than the “Hot Air” situation and seems only to occur when the Air-Conditioning is set to “Off”. The longest incident was some two and a half hours when cold air was emitted continuously even though the temperature was set to Max (fully clockwise). It seems that this is just cold outside air and not Air-Conditioned air.

Has anyone else had or heard of anything similar?

Andy

I had something similar where essentially the heater cable was sticking so when on hot it was hot but when turned to cold it would stay hot until vibration, momentum etc would move the cable back along it's sleeve and go cold [could be 10mins, could be 2 hours] whereby it would stay cold until the dial was set to its hottest! Drove me made but was fixed under warranty although it still feels fragile..............

We had that problem in our old Fabia - if you turned the air control up even one notch from the coldest setting you would get a blast of very hot air in your face. Never did solve it, until we traded up to the Roomster
