Anyone fancy a forza motorsport2 hothatch challenge?

Featured Replies

Just put in a 9.25.615 in an '07 Type R but I balls'd up the corner before the mini-karussell so I could probably shave another 4-5 seconds on a perfect run as I got a 2.5 penalty plus the loss of speed etc. I'll try again in the morning and then bung in a couple of laps in the VXR. It's a shame you don't start flat out really as you have to complete a full lap to get a decent run at it!

Oh, my GT is: Schern. Feel free to add me!

9.14 in a VXR. Could maybe get another couple of seconds of that, but I can't see me getting much faster. And I can't be arsed as well lol.

Damnit! I need my Xbox back!

Yup, just think of all the fun competitiveness you're missing out on! Go and buy an Elite so you can start playing now!!! Go on... off you go! lol.

After a few laps last night in the Clio 197 I only managed a 9.51, but with lots of room for improvement! :D

It's proving to be a lot of fun in the standard cars, especially when you figure out which corners can be taken flat out!

it is nice the standard cars :) have now managed a 9:10.67 in the VXR, and although it was a bit messy I really think I'm probably done :o

the funny this col is that your time is invalid as you used TCS.... dunno who insomniac is but clearly that mk2 is tuned.....

a big must try hard for all those on the wrong side of 9.20....... bugger... cant play as my xb is 100 miles away.

My time would have been faster but someone kept on sending me messages during my lap telling me it was pointless even trying :)

i was doing well last night too, was infront of my fastest ghost physically and that ghost had a 3/4 second penalty, then i stuffed it half way round :(

Damnit :(

Must try harder!

And that Mk2 if definitely tuned!

The mk2 might not be a user on here... this is just the general scoreboard for group D cars

right then losers, after a fair bit of effort i've got it down to 9:04.54 and i think thats me done :)

Still some way off the official times for the real cars then.. :P

Woohoo!

My Xbox is on its way back from Germany :) I'll be able to compete soon!

yes its odd... the PS2 / GT lets you set incredible times.... yet the XB /FM2 seems to reign you in... not sure why... I think that its down to 2 or 3 things:-

1 PS2 doesnt penalise you for untidy driving.

2 FM2 doesnt seem to quite have the cars aero / top end right it does seem a little conservative on top end... i.e most of the cars really struggle to break 135 on the straight when i think they would be less so

3 Are the mag quoted figures BTG cos the game figure are for a true full lap??? which is 30 secs longer....

i'd agree with top speeds being off, but those official times were set by proper pro racing(?) drivers

I've only had a brief go on FM2 but I'd say its more arcade than an a simulation. The Focus ST I picked (obviously ) only had 5 gears and I'm pretty sure I never got up to the 150 top speed it's capable of.

Roll on GT5... :D

Yes real drivers in real cars with a real fear of stuffing it into armco at high speed.. so all things being equal I'd say you'd be able to set a faster time in the simulation. :)

:o Try having a go with a proper steering wheel. :)

Don't know anyone with a eggbox and a steering wheel and I'm going to stick with my brevil. :D

you just weren't going fast enough blade, the game changes gear at the end of the gear not when it feels like it :)

it'll change from 5th to 6th at the end of 5th around 135 - 140 which the game doesn't seem to think the car can do on standard power.

don't forget from the start/finish onwards its uphil so a diesel would be far better ;)
