Cheapest place to find a part?

Featured Replies

Ok, here's a challenge for you guys ;) I've been told I need a new steering arm joint (part no:2Q0423804E) and as a good will gesture, the local dealer will fit it free of charge, if I cover the cost of the part, and is happy if I supply the part myself.

So, where is the cheapest place to buy this part? :)

I've been quoted 62.36+VAT by the local dealer so can anyone beat that? :D

Not exactly sure, but it's the O/S/F steering arm joint. Will have to wait for someone with ETKA to explain further - as you know, I'm no mechanic ;)

Try EuroCarparts, or German and Swedish, or even Partco, but it may be too manufacturer specific for any of these.

I have a feeling that this very part is hanging down into the now empty wheel arch! ;)

I suspect its the bit in this piccie, sat to the right and slightly above the suspension arm.

Looks like my ETKA V6.2 is getting out of date. There are no parts beginning with 2Q0 listed for the Fabia's front suspension - they are mainly 6Q0.

If your local dealer wants to charge that for a ball joint, I seriously think you should insert the old one where he will have serious difficulty in extracting it !

Is this joint pictured in my vacant wheel arch? Chris, you can have one for a lot less than

Hi Chris

I think Jason is offering exactly what you require. You can see it in the picture quite clearly. (For those of us who have worked on cars for years it is known as the track rod end).

The numbers quoted (with the exception of the 2Q0) align on EKTA. The first 3 disgits are used to denote the car model (i.e. the 2Q0 or 6Q0).

I suspect that Skoda have changed the part number for a revision to the part.

Make sure that you get the one from the correct side off Jason. Your car will need the track setting after the change.

Hope this helps.

73 quid for a track rod end!!! Jeez!
