Fitting a Truckman to a Fun with cab roofbars

Featured Replies

Sorry if this question is a bit naive. My son has a 1998 Fun with roof bars on the cab. He wanted a truckman just to keep items secure in the back, (and occasionally keep 3rd and 4th passengers dry).

We bought one on ebay, without windows but it'll do but it's a 2-3hr drive away so we haven't picked it up yet. Having looked at a few pictures it seems all truckman tops are fitted to Funs without roofbars on their cab. Does this mean they have to be removed? If so is it a major job? One last, probably daft question, could you get a truckman top home (100 miles) in the back without it being fitted on?

Thanks for your time reading, please don't laugh too much

IIRS the roof bars are gust held on with screws so i would recomend removing them before collecting the top. It might be a good idea to take with you a cordless drill, pop rivet gun and a few rivets ,as the top is held on with catches that rivet on. Other than that a couple of ratchet straps and an old sheet to stop id chaffing

The Fun truckman is unique being different to a regular truckman top.

Mine didnt have roof bars but the lady who bought mine from me had them on hers and we had to remove them to fit it.
