I'm from Holland. Today we were informed by the Dutch importer of Skoda that they lowered their prices as of immediately. The discount could go up to 2000 euro which is about 1600 GBP. The prices are effective as of today and are valid until the end of this year. Perhaps this is the first token of the upcoming model change?

Anything known about this in the UK?

I got a letter through from my local dealer yesterday saying due to something or other they've got 20 Level 1 Fabias for sale at only £5995 (~£3k saving). Might be something to do with what you're saying.

That sounds like some older models they want to get rid off. No I'm really talking about the new models (Fabia, Roomster, Octavia). This new pricelist is active as from 8 September and valid until January 1st, 2009. After this date, it's expected that Skoda will start delivering the facelifted model but this is not at all sure.
