Stolen Wheels

Featured Replies

Hi all

Could you please keep your eyes out for my 18" Inovit Alloys for the Octavia, they were stolen last night/this morning (car was on bricks when I got up today).  Stolen from my home in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The thieves seemed to know what they were doing, - they also used a VW Jack and Tyre iron to do the job (left by the car), so seems to be someone with or knows about VW/Audi's etc.

The wheels are 18" Black Inovite ST VI's, with chrome lip - they will be a bit more unique, as they will either have the custom green Inovite/vRS decals that I produced on the wheel spokes, or won't have any decals at all (From factory they should have original blue Inovite/RAVS decals)

Image of the wheels taken just yesterday

If you could keep your eyes out, would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Should be very distinctive indeed, and easy to spot.

Make sure the local Police get a picture of the wheels (every now and then you get a petrol head copper like me who will make a mental note of the wheels and eventually spot them somewhere..)

Can I see a lack of locking wheels nuts on those rims???

BarstArds...........Hands need chopping off, It's the only way to teach people,...:(

Plus after the 2nd offence they won't be able to do it again.

To the OP: .

love those wheels... they really set the car off (and I like your rear spoiler too!)

ill keep an eye out for them, just hope they are stupid enough to keep the wheels how they are so they are easier to spot:thumbup:

Barstewards, hope they catch them.

Sorry to here of the theft,

Sadly I think they have been taken because of their scrap value. I dont think they will ever see the road again, but most likely end up being weighed in as scrap.

It maybe an idea to phone any local scrap metal companies to see if they have been handed over to them.

i was thinking exactly what mannyo has posted when i posted above, i would email allt he local scrap metal places with a photo and an offer of reward for them.

If anyone sees these wheels do not try and get them back, aprehend the driver or try to place them under a citizens arrest. just not the time date and location plus the registration number (and a description of the driver) and pm it to bjorn above. this will keep you safe and not confuse the police as bjorn will have the officers name and urn number and can deal with them direct and probably quicker.

That's such a shame. - I would keep an eye out on eBay as the idiots may post them up there for sale (If they don't scrap them).

These seem rather costly wheels - Did you have to make a claim?

alloy wheels aren't worth much as scrap though - perhaps a tenner a wheel for 18s so it seems a lot of effort to go to, especially with leaving the jack and bar behind.

Sorry to hear about this though. Very rare to hear about wheel crime nowadays.

Also, keep an eye about on VW/Audi forums incase anybody is trying to sell them on these.

Thats a nightmare. Suppose the only consolation is they left it on bricks rather than leaving it on the brake discs. 20 locking wheel nuts I'm thinking for the next set.

F*ck that! If I see them the thieving scumbag is going down:thumbdwn:... chances are if they're on the thief's own car it won't be registered to them and the police'll never find the car again.

good god that sucks

i feel your pain.. hope you get them back un harmed..

i have 5 locking wheel nuts on each of my alloys.. even though there not worth much!

As the bits left at the theft were VW, is it likely the thief onws/twocked a VW themselves? as I guess the wheels would be a direct fit for his car.

No locking nuts?????

Locking nuts don't really lock as such anyway. They just make life difficult for the average joe without a clue. You can buy locking nut removers.

Too late now unfortunately, but with Clifford alarms you can get a sensor that detects tilting motion. Doubt they'd be spending their time removing wheels from a car with the alarm going off.

i agree with jason, it's not worth nicking a set of wheels for scrap value, far more likely o see these fitted to thier car on up on ebay imho, these are fairly unique too which means they stick out like a saw thumb
