That was one of the big benefits of the EU membership - that manufacturers were forced to accept independent garages. On the other hand, not all EU plans are carried out - thank god.

I fail to see why this one is going through unless someone has been taking backhanders from the Eu manufacturers.

That is more likely than prices dropping. Looks like it will be a case of keeping older cars and DIY servicing then. I have to say that a lot of indy garages are not any cheaper than a dealer with whom you are on good terms.
