SEAT withdraw from BTCC

Featured Replies

Would love to se Octavias :D

Agree with above, Plato is one of the sneakiest dirtiest drivers out there, but thats what makes the BTCC. I think Giovanardi was a very clean driver in WTCC , just realise what the rest of them were up to and decided what it would take to win and bascially to give some of it back.

But thats what made the BTCC the BTCC!!!!

all the nudging off and things.

Shame to hear SEAT pullling out though. Why WHY!!!!

Just seen the Silverstone round lastnight, Plato has really become tame when it comes to leaning/ bumping people.

Yeah, I always thought JP was the first to hand it out, and to whinge if anyone "looked at him funny". Rubbing is one thing, but hitting other people hard enough to break their suspensions isn't rubbing!

I assume you mean a Seat broke suspension? IIRC it was a very weak point, any tap at all and the Seats were breaking them when they first came into WTCC & BTCC (with Leon), I dunno its its the shape of it or what but it did happen very regularly. Probably not as much in WTCC, but hey they very seldom swap paint ...big fairy's :rofl:

Throughout JP's career, not just in the Seats!

:thumbup:Sorry I wasn't sure if you were having a go at Fab hitting JP's car so hard to break suspension (hence me last post), but I gather you mean its JP thats doing the breaking :)

Forgive me if I'm wrong.

"Rubbings racing" (name that quote) ..... it's what makes BTCC so much fun to watch.

Nae fuss, nae bother mate.

That was a one-off, but does rather demonstrate my point (well that and JP's ramming tactics losing Matt Neal an indy championship back in the Primera days).

Come on. Matt Neal is one of the worst for nudging people out of the way.

I miss the late 90's with loads of maunfacturers and reasonably big name drivers with BBC coverage (and Murray commentating).

Yeah espcially the time Rydell went backwards at high speed THROUGH a tyre barrier and parked his volvo in between two big oak trees.

This season maybe (Due to the unique way digital tv is funded I can't get it without MurdochVision), but not in the previous lots.

Eh ? Btcc is on freeview (ITV 4) and ITV.COM.... is also replayed on ITV

I can't get terrestrial digital. Is that clear this time? ;)

Can you not get ITV1 or the internet either ?:P

Volvos were fond of crashing alright YouTube - Kelvin Burt BTCC crash

I agree with Ken, he's been on the receiving end plenty of times and it got him nowt. At the end they all know that you must take your chances to win the Championship, JP has taught them all that ;)

One thing about Neals taps versus JP's is Neals will unsettle a little to open the door a bit (see 0:26 here YouTube - Knockhill 2008 - BTCC Action) whereas Jason well he just trys to put people right around or off out of way (1:35 and 2:216 in this YouTube - BTCC 2007 Thruxton round 10 race 3 Plato Vs Neal

YouTube - BTCC 2007 Snetterton Plato vs Giovanardi).

I still stand by post 27. In fairness the chap would say mass after a race, he should have been a politician (and to rest my case watch these events and interview at the end YouTube - Jason Plato takes out Matt Neal @ Snetterton, and note not once did Matt Neal touch Jasons rear bumper). Although I do love to watch him.

BTCC not on ITV1 this year, and I don't spend my limited interweb time watching videos!

BTCC :: HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship

Middle section.... it's also on men an motors........

So I was supposed to:-

1) Read the website

2) Buy an analogue PVR that will be effectively scrap in 2 years

3) Be up at silly o'clock?

All I'm pointing out is that there is plenty of access to btcc with out the need of "murdoch vision" ? (but since when was murdoch involved with freeview, ntl, virgin, telewest, terrestrial etc etc etc etc )

Not everybody lives in an area with cable or freeview. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?

I perfectly understand that...... but its available on terrestrial which you said it wasn't......
