Finally got around to debadging

Featured Replies

Last night I finally got around to debadging my Octy vRS.

Just used a hairdrier, my fingernails and a bit of patience!!

Looks nice, I think. :D

Your couldnt even tell the badges were ever there. Looks cool and is now a very discreet octy vRS.

Looks good - I've done this on mine and it gives a cleaner look and is not such a pain to clean ;)

Good point. I'd like a nice twin round-ended one.

I wonder if Powerflow can weld a new end on for me??!? :D

Two Briskoda stickers are on their way for the back Windows!

You also need a 1.4 or 1.6 badge as well :D

Are you taking offers on the old bonnet grille badge? ;)

It's stuck to the bottom of my monitor :D

The metal top bit came off okay but I bent the plastic bit underneath that actually glues to the grill.

I'm almost tempted to debadge mine of the Octavia and 1.4 16V badges....

:( oh well - I can see myself having to buy a new one - maybe I should think about something other than a "V" badge for the grille.. Hmmmm ;)

One of those small quattro grille badges used by Audi would look nice and cause confusion if not consternation. :)

RS6? ;) Ahem, I don't think I'll set my heights that high, but somewhere in the middle might be OK. Time to scan the VAGparts website. :D

looks good will be doing mine this week..

It's dead simple:

Use a hairdrier to warm up the badges for a few minutes then carefully lift the letters one by one with your fingernails. I did break a nail though!

With a bit of working back and forth, each letter will lift off, leaving hardly any residue.

The residue can be easily rolled off with your thumb.

Some have suggested using fishing wire at the back to work through the adhesive but I didn't want to risk scratching the paint.

I used a small amount of white spirit to remove the mucky outline where the badges were.

anyone removed the skoda badges?
