Featured Replies

hello peeps. how are we all?

my furbs comingup to its 20.000 mile service. im just wondering what type of price am i looking at for a service? went to the dealer i bought it from and was quoted £250-£300 for a full service.

was also wondering as its a 1.2 12v sport-what probs should i expect to hear about?

cheers!

if its the 2nd service the brake fluid has to be changed.my car went for a service last week (2nd service 10,000 miles on the clock) and brake fluid changed the bill came to around £250.

my car is a 1.2 12v

Dont go to a dealer thats just madness! Go to a reputable local garage and you'll be looking at 100-150

If you can justify the extra cost going through a dealer then do tell coz i'm struggling to justify it myself.

my vrs has just gone 40k and although the dealer I bought it off said they had serviced it (non skoda dealer) I dont think they have as the oil is black which it shouldnt be after just 5 days !!!

Also I cant understand why skoda seem to insist changing the brake fluid on a very regular basis ?? as posted above, 10k service and fluid changed ??? after just 10k

different manufacturers, different servicing I guess

Fonzi, go to Discount VW & Audi Centre in Hoylake. They do a superb job, very thorough, and much cheaper than Mitchells.

It's not about the distance but the time. Your brake fluid should be changed every two years as it's hygroscopic (Absorbs moisture from the atmosphere) effectively decreasing the boiling point, vastly increasing the risk of fade and therefore failure.

Many other manufacturers insist on the same.
