bad fuel consumption

Featured Replies

maybe try another one? do you have enough water in the cooling system? (best: between min and max)

whats the capacity of the fuel tank in the 1.3 coz on motorway driving im getting about 340 before light comes on yet stop start motoring sees that drop to about 250

42 liters and with 36 the light comes

so how many gallons is that and is my mileage right

42 liters = 11.1 gallon

36 liters = 9.5 gallon

I arrive around 310 to 350 miles

mine just goes to the ) on the 70 jus got a new thermostat though, any body got any ideas how to get it to sit in the middle?

the thermostat, was fitter wrong, it broke, or is not the correct one, temperature that low the only culprit is the thermostat not doing its job, (its supposed to be closed until 86 degrees and fully open in 90)

another possibility is that the temperature sensor you have (i imagine the 4 contact one) is damaged or theres is weak current on the wiring

what i would do is, remove the thermostat to check damages and if is the correct heat range and check temp sender and clean it with contact cleaner, refit everything disconnect the radiator's fan turn the engine on and start filling the system with coolant, let it rise to 100 degrees (constantly toping of the coolant) and reconnect the radiators fan, and see how fast and how low the system cools, after that put on the coolant cap (should be no air bubbles and good circulation)

No, you should get 40-45 mpg

sorry to doubt, but are you sure it should give hime 40 - 45 mpg, is that highway ?

how many mpg do you think i should get from a 1.3 Carburetor engine 136M ???

what i'm specifically looking for is all city driving, i know a lot post mixed or highway mpg, but since i very rare take the highway those wouldn't be a good ruler for me
