I sell a digital boost gauge which takes its information from a protocol called kw1281 which available on the OBD2 diagnostics bus on golf MK4 compatible cars.

You can see which protocol is being used when vag-com is conneceted, see screen shot below for a golfMK5 which uses kwp2089.

Does anyone know what is used on the Octavi mk1 and mk2?

Today I don't have a mounting solution for any Skodas but may look into it if there is interest.

If anyone has some good pics of the air vent on the MK1 and MK2 it would be great to see them up close.

I have deliberately not put my web address here to avoid irritating the owners/mods, and will only post it if I get the ok from them.

Assuming you have a registered version of VAG-COM/VCDS it might be worth emailing them for an answer.

The unit is pretty much the same size as the lcd and 15mm deep so can fit in a few places, I've seen them in ash trays, sun visors but most go for the air vent.

i have a mk1 octy vrs,im just outside dunfermline,im sure that it runs kwp 1281 protocol,but would have to hook vag com to make sure.
