Brake upgrade

Featured Replies

Before I get a re-map (she's in bed and not reading over my shoulder! ) I'm quite keen to upgrade my brakes. The faster i go the faster i want to stop.

Anybody done this and what would be advised, can't find many threads about this.

The only brake upgrade i've done since Jabba is Ferodo DS2500 pads all round.

I've never ran out of brakes yet, and that includes absoloutely hammering them around Brunters ;)

Yeah i've thought about them pads but was unsure about how good the brakes would be running 250bhp, for example

Mine's running 233 (or about 185 on some rolling roads  )

You can always do fluid & discs if you need more :)

ill need to stay away from those rolling roads geoff, my 224bhp could end up being less than 180bhp

id thought a brake upgrade on an octy VRS is just not needed...until you get past the 300 mark or do alot of track days both usaly comming hand in hand... on the roads stopping from 80mph to 0 is with 180bhp is the same as doing it with 250bhp you just get there quicker in the first place...

Joel.

Try doing high-speed stops repeatedly, on a track for instance. That's when you'll see the need for better brakes.

I know i can stamp on my brakes and the car will stop, whether it be on a track, or blasting around country roads ;)

Haven't you upgraded the brake fluid as well as the pads, Geoff?

No Denis.

Not necessary for most of the driving i do, all IMHO of course :)
