My new Felicia

Featured Replies

Afternoon all. I bought my little 1.3 L&K as a cheap run around to get to work and back, I'm a Ford tech and grew up on Fiesta's but didn't want one of these and the Felicia fitted the bill well with the 1.3 leather and toys. Trouble is i'm enjoying it so much i want to start playing;)

My first plan of action is to fit power steering an ARB at the front and some stiffer suspension with lower ride height. Standard L&K wheels with some good tyres and small wheel spacers to widen the track, a bit of a sleeper you might say.

Okay i'm 42 but this car just reminds me of tuning the low powered under dogs that i loved back in '80s. I will grow up 1 day honest.

So to my 1'st, power steering. I've heard that Felicias had electronic pwr. steering and could be hard to fit. Did they also come with normal engine pump driven pwr.str. much easier to fit. Also the down pipe to cat join is starting to rust and has some pin holes, can you recomend if available a sports manifold and system. A lot of questions but Cheers for your advise and help guys:thumbup:

felicia has mechanical power steering, belt driven pump... it's the fabia which has electric power steering...

i reckon you should be able to source many of the components from a breakers yard. iirc you also need the track rod ends too because the power steering ones are different...

in regards to the arb, if yours doesn't have one as standard, it may not have the slots pressed in the subframe to take the mounting saddles/bushes, also there is no hole in the track control arms to take the connecting link, so you will need tca's from a 1.6 or diesel model.

Cheers for the quick reply, Phew on pwr str. should be able to sort this now.The car hasn't got an arb on it but the lower arms have a hole in them and there are some holes with threads on the subframe which look like they could take arb clamp. Having not looked at one in the breakers yet its difficult to be sure. Is there any tuning potential with the monomotronic. God you lot will get fed my questions but Ford systems are in a world of their own,

if you've got the holes in the subframe and the tca's then it's a goodun...

the arb is quite a strange shape, there is a 22mm version available from vw too

you will need to remove the dowpipe/cat and gear linkage to fit it too

Cheers had quick ring around some local b/yards but no one has one with pwr st. at the mo. Keep trying, saw the thread on arb's most useful. The caddy in question is it the one that looks like a felicia front end with vw badge on it

yeah, you might be lucky and find one in a breakers yard, if not they are only about £80 new...

Cheap as chips. I like this car more and more:thumbup:

The Caddy is the same as the Felicia pick up I think.

I saw a Caddy pick up today and thought it was a Falicia pick-up until I saw the VW badge at the front.

Felicias are cheap as cheaps :D Welcome to Club Felicia

Good choice of car btw!!!

Good luck with your mods!
