Some easy questions

Hi

Just a couple of quick questions before I give my car a long overdue service:

1) Should the oil cap have a rubber insert under it? I ask as mine is leaking oil from it.

2) Having ran over a shoe, I managed to smash the righthand plastic bit that the sump gaurd fixes too. Are these expensive?

3) Are the polybush front anti roll bar bushes better than the standard ones?

Thanks

1) Yes, there should be a rubber seal ring in the cap. The rubber can perish and degrade due to the oil, so yours may have crumbled away or maybe someone just pulled it off and never replaced it. It clearly needs the seal, so i'd get a new cap or seal if you can.

2) No idea! Are you talking about the plastic splash guard things? Because one of mine is ripped too. Dealer could tell you quickly.

3) Personal opinion. If in doubt go standard Skoda. They are cheap, as I just bought a pair. I do some very long journeys in my car, so I would never fit poly bushes. But if your a track day monkey, then they might make sense. People will argue this probably...... so it's up to you.

2. I replaced mine, was a few quid (under £10), iirc from the dealer, after my gf parked on a kerb and then reserved off, and this then popped out and dragged along the road at speeds over 40mph and granted itself down in size....
