high pitched noise at wheel

Featured Replies

 Hi everyone. my felicia has recently developed a high pitched noise at the front offside wheel. It's only really heard when the window is open, so it is pretty quiet. It seems more evident above 30 initially but then can be heard at lower speeds. It is intermittant, making me suspect the brake might be binding. There are some squeals when the brakes are applied, but from the back i think rather than from that wheel. The problem is that it seems to be prompted by the lightest of touch to the steering. (i.e. it seems okay in a straight line). And it doesn't get any louder the more you turn or the faster you go.

:o Any ideas?

yeah, brake related i reckon, might be the pads sticking to the caliper

I would say that is your breaks as well as I have just recently had this problem (last week) and the car was going in for a service I had them check the breaks and they were needing replaced. Since replaicing them I have not had any noise from the breaks

hey, i had that problem a while back but was noticable at 30 and above, i thought it was the wheel bearing at first but was found out to be the brake binding.

Hope this helps

Cheers

John
