estate car rear windscreen wiper

Featured Replies

I've had my rear windscreen wiper stolen and want to replace it with an after market one, the only trouble is I don't know what length to get. I have a 2007 Octavia elagance estate 2.0 TDi. Doing some internet research I get between 13" and 16" recommended, if you have this model, or similar could you measure the length of the blade please.

Have you any experiance of 3rd party aero blades?

Thanks

Maymo

My 06 Ambiente estate rear wiper is 16", I replaced it with one from wiperblades.co.uk when it was time to be replaced. Try them as they have a good choice and were reasonably priced.

I have recently purchased a replacement for my 06 Estate with a Valeo VM252 from wiperblades.co.uk.

£14.95

If you go to the site you can specify what the make/model/year of car. Checking I see that the 06 and 07 blade is the same (not suprised).

Just buy a new one from the dealer, they are suprisingly cheap.

Good point, but as my dealer is in the opposite direction to the office its not that simple to collect (unless they will post it ???) - so order online and had it delivered to the office.

I agree and it saves faffing about

Was only the blade stolen? There is also a little plastic piece securing it to the arm which, if missing must also be ordered. And I don't think it comes with aftermarket (or OEM) wipers.

Hope someone can help with this. I,ve had my 55 plate (early 06) octy 2 estate 1.9TDI for about 6 months. The rear wiper works intermittently. At the moment it wont work at all then after a few weeks it decides to work again. Sometimes it sticks in vertical position. I have checked connections, they seem ok. I suspect it may be water getting in but nothing visible. Any ideas?

The very fragile 'Mickey Mouse securing' clip broke on mine when the lifted rear blade decided to slam itself against the rear window. Could not buy the clip only so had to have the wiper arm which included said clip. A very reasonable price from the dealer though and they posted to me FOC.

Moral - be careful when lifting the rear wiper arm, that clip is really weak.
