how do I work out BHP per tonne?

Featured Replies

If my car weighs 1205kg and I have 147bhp at the wheels, can someone tell me how to work out the bhp/tonne (at the wheels of course...)

thanks in advance....

1 metric tonne = 1000kg

So 1205kg = 1.205 tonnes

bhp/weight = 147/1.205 = 121.991

Yep - Just divide the 147 bhp by a thousandth of your weight, i.e in this case 1.205

That makes mine 172.2 bhp per tonne :D

That makes mine 172.2 bhp per tonne :D

Is that at the wheels figures, or flywheel power? :)

Just fly mate.

My Golf will be roughly 340 bhp per tonne then..lol
