a new list of "real" performance figures ;)

Featured Replies

lets have a list of your actual bhp/tonne, just to see how things compaire... you'll need you WHP figure (NOT the flywheel figure!) and the weight of your car.....

example, my car weighs 1205kg and has 147 bhp at the wheels...

so 1 metric tonne = 1000kg

So 1205kg = 1.205 tonnes

bhp/weight = 147/1.205 = 121.991 bhp as the actual figure I'm after! (credit decron)

1. Sharkrider-grande punto sporting 121.991 bhp/tonne at the wheels...

thanks for your indulgence!

Is BHP at the flywheel always the same percentage higher than at the wheel?

My dyno prints from last weekend said mine was 217bhp ATW, and car weighs roughly 1250kg - I've no idea on the actual weight.

So that's 173.6 bhp per ton.

Mines about 185bhp at the rear wheels, and about 1.35 tonnes, so about 137bhp/tonne :)

2. Devonutopia-Fabia tdi: 173.6 bhp/tonne

3. Tom_vRS-BMW 328i: 137bhp/tonne

I've started a list ...

I'll find mine out next weekend :)

I think someone may have used flywheel power for their focus, unless it's been tweaked? :D

:o:rolleyes::D

Can someone do the vRS Octavia CR TDI? Not got mine yet!

yeah, NO flywheel figures please! it would ruin the reason for the thread, I started it to see figures that can show actual road performance, for exmple (gilly) if I apply a fabia vRS's losses to my car, its making 173bhp at the fly, if I apply awsomes RR its making 158bhp at the fly, so losses are always "calculated" if we use WHP figures, we get a real picture of how your car compairs to others!

so Blade, if you have used fly figures, go change it ;)

Already realised my mistake:O... and updated my post :)

usually 20% transmission losses. :)

[determined to be at the top :D]

This was based on the "at the wheels" figure given by Awesome GTI when they couldnt get a RPM feed.

usually 20% transmission losses. :)

Maybe on VAG cars... but not proper ones :P

well if I went on 20% losses, I'd have 176.4 at the fly ;) at awsome mine had 147 at the wheels, and 158 at the fly...... what % loss is that?

wouldn't that be something like 7% losses?

hopefully i'll be looking at about 185bhp/ton at all four wheels :D
