very quick question for whoever can be bothered to answer,

whats the difference between the Octavia 1U and 1Z models??

im assuming that these are the octy 1 and 2's?

i have a 2001 octy so am i right in thinking that mine is a 1U?

1U is a MK1, 1Z is a MKII.

Look at your chassis number.

Slightly loose gear knob

I have a 2020 manual and I have a slight play with the gear knob at the end (please excuse the euphemism), I am able to twist the knob slightly, its not so loose that it feels like its coming off, but the main stick is not moving at all its just the end, so it’s not the actual gearbox. Is this normal or something that can be tightened, as I can not find a picture of the inside of the Mk4, in the Mk3 it seems to be held in place with a metal clip, so if the Mk4 is made the same way, I’m guessin

Windscreen washers not working in both front and end

Hi Folks, Both the front and rear window washers on my MK3 Fabia not working but window wipers do operate. Google it and go through the last posts but no clue. 1) No pump sound 2) My friend help to test the fuses no. 22, 27, 31 and 46, are all fine 3) At pump, the voltage around 11.x V but it will dropped to around 0.5v when turn on the wipers 4) The washer reservoir is full 5) The car battery replaced last summer with normal 12.6V Any idea please, Many thanks in advance

I’ve recently bought a 1.0 Octavia estate etec it didn’t come with mats and I’m struggling to find mats that fit! Even genuine ones from Skoda themselves wouldn’t fit Has any one else had this issue and if so did you manage to sort it out ?

There have been a number of posts in the Facebook Skoda Karoq Owners Group recently related to the appearance on the infotainment screen when starting the car of a message about Data Tracking. I too have had this but it has now stopped. Then a new longer message referring to EU data protection and sharing - that was the gist I think as I didn’t take a photo and it’s no longer being displayed.
