Anyone use M27 Hampshire?

Featured Replies

I was prosecuted for this, the two officers in the car behind me formed the opinion that I was exceeding the speed limit. They corroborated their evidence with a subsequent calibration check of their vehicle speedo.

Get a decent solicitor then:rofl::P

Bit late for that, my debt to society has been repaid.

Yep - fully legal......you only need an 'experienced' police officer (ie Traffic Patrol Officer) to form an opinion that you are exceeding the speed limit and then have it corroborated either by another officer or a device to be prosecuted, although obviously it is more easily contested in Court if they don't have the backing of a correctly calibrated device.

Yes they have.

There are 2 TDI Skoda Octavia's operating in and around the area of the M27 you mentioned, a Race Blue "58" and silver "08"

Hampshire have purchased some new white Octavia VRS TDI estates that are currently awaiting Police lighting and battenburg reflectives etc, and will be used around the county.

hope this helps?

My mate reports seeing a Race Blue one on the A3 at the Waterlooville roundabout.

we use vascar in the traffic cars, which is a time/distance meter. It can be used on a "follow" without having to match the target vehicle's speed, or as a "pre-fed" check where we atch the target vehicle cross between two points (like the white squares on the roads, or even changes in road surface)

another one to watch out for is a 3litre subaru legacy, can't remember the colour but I'll have a peek tomorrow...(have a feeling it's dark grey)

As far as I'm aware there are 2 about to be plated and fitted out.

One almost black in colour the other in dark silver. Not sure if there destined for traffic use or other duties.

I have also seen an unmarked silver vRS hatch on the A3 bypass running through Guildford - it was protecting a broken down car at the offslip to the hospital - it was lit up like a Christmas tree.
