rear washer nozzle clogged

Featured Replies

Alrighty, I tried to wash the back glass today, only to discover it's clogged and only a little water comes out.

I've determined for sure the hose isn't detached, no leaks inside, or washer fluid smell (I already use winter fluid diluted, and the odor would be a sure sign), this obviously leads to clogged nozzle.

The trouble is I have a hard time aiming the flimsy 0.3 mm wire through the plastic guard over the nozzle, is there some easy way to take the rear wiper off so that I can do it on the table? Maybe add some calcium deposit remover inside it from the washing machine and let it soak for a while.

That reminds me - i must go round the back of my VRS to make sure there is no rear screen washer there.

I push the bottun and get a 'click' from the electronics, but nothing happens. At first i thought it was broken but for some reason i now think the VRS doesnt get one................

If there's a wiper there (should) be a washer.

Hi, Sebulbus,

Mine was blocked when I got the car.

The nozzles can be removed. Just lift up the cover at the end of the wiper and the nozzles are revealed. They can then be carefully levered off the pipe in the centre and cleaned out.

Good luck!

Hi

Is this easy to do - have tried to take the cover off but seems quite tight; any sort of tool required to remove this & the nozzles

Mnay thanks

Hi Robygerrard,

Yes, the cover is quite tight but it does hinge up if you pull hard. You then need a small screwdriver to gently lever off the nozzle assembly. You can then clean them out easily.

Have fun!
