Slightly OT, but watching Reall Rescues the other day there was a woman being cut out of her car (not serious in the end, they just needed better access to get a board on) and the fire chief appeared to turn up in a Fabia vRS SE...cool.

High speed? Hah. You'd have to tow it to make it go fast. I drive one of those from time to time (better spec, except for the lights).

They do about 90 flat out. Forgot to mention, rear drum brakes on all specs.

I've seen the Leicestershire police VRS's a few times. One last week in Belgrave Gate (silver saloon) and one parked up out in Barwell (silver estate). IIRC the number plates start FJ08...

I saw the black one mainly around oadby/wigston, seen it flying up the A6 in aodby with lights and sirens more than a couple of times.
