Most people are saying the N96 is almost a downgrade from the N95-8gb!

Babs.. apparently theres a firmware update for it already...

I can't actually get it to connect to my PC anyway!

in what way?

It has got an FM radio. i like the idea of BBC Iplayer on your phone, but you'd have to be in a WiFi zone surely they can't run it from 3G?

HSDPA (3.5G) can run at upto 8mb/s or similar i believe

iplayer should work over 3g,

I'll be sticking with my N95 though, I cant really see anything extra I will use to justify the cost.

the n95 has a radio, surely the 8jiggabyte one does too?

Yeah, I know but I thought it didn't, so I said it hadn't, then I realised it did, so I changed it to say it did. HTH

Same here mannyo :)

in what way?

It has a slower CPU, no 3d accelleration, its buggy as hell, the speakers/MP3s are really quiet and the same 950 battery the original N95 had.. only new bit is the DVB telly thing which is useless in the uk anyway.

Google for the N85.. that is shaping up to be the N95 sucessor.. superior to the N96 and cheaper too.

Oh and the iplayer isnt anything special... works on N95s too

oooo, i've been saying when will they put an fm transmitter in a phone :D

What network babs, and what deal?

I too have been interested, but the prices T-mobile state are shocking! I think I'll be waiting.

N85 only has 70mb memory. My original N95 has more than double that. Besides the OLED screen, and a navi key, the N85 seems a backward step from the N95, let alone the 8GB. It can also only support upto 8GB micro SD.

This is the only phone I believe that supports SDHC, made by nokia, that has this limit. Sandisk tested/is testing 16 and 32GB on devices including the N95v1.

3 looks the best deal to me, free phone, £35 a month for unlimited tinterweb and 300 minutes/texts and an 18 month contract.

Yikes, that's an appalling amount of minutes for the money.

I'm after an E66 when they are out on O2

O2, £35/month

600 minutes, unlimted texts.

Phone cost £99

On their £45 tariff (1200 mins) the phone was free.

HTH :)

I rang voda last night and said mine and my mums phones are both knackered (contract doesnt finish till march). My mum now has a sony ericsson c902 with 100 mins and 100 txts for 15 quid a month

I was offered the n96 with unlimited txt, data and 600 mins for 40 quid a month, I said can i have the x1 when its released on the 10th, she said no problem :cool:

dont wanna wait 8 days :(

Had one in bits today, wasn't as bad as I thought.

Parts are already available too :)

That X1 does look seriously nice, but in my experience i find SE smartphones to be incredibly glitchy, had an m600 and p900 and they were both so slow, most annoying was that the touch screen functionality wouldnt turn off when in a call so youd end up doing something obscure.

ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

its all going to be ok!

18 months with a phone i dont like :-p
