Iplayer for N95..

Featured Replies

The Iplayer app that was released today for the N96 also works on all flavours of the N95, and the N82.. infact most of the S60 phones... its even hackable to work on my Samsung :)

You must have the latest firmware though..

More info Here

and if you put "http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer/iplayer.wgz" into your nokia browser it will download the application :)

I'm gonna need a bigger memory card.

why? it takes up about 190k i think :)

the rest is streamed.

How do I make sure I have the right access point setup for real-player?

Open real player and set it there. Best bet is always ask for access point, or set as your wifi so if it's not around, you wont rack up network charges without knowledge.

Everything loads for me, but then I always get 'please switch to WiFi to view this programme'

The 3G connection should be quick enough, really.

I'm sure i read somewhere that the iplayer program only works with wi-fi at the moment....... I think they plan to add 3G functionality in a later build.

I read the complete opposite to this

I read it does not work via wi-fi and only works over a 3g connection.

I don't know which is true as i do not have the program, just thought i'd post to help confuse the issue! :D

How come we get the message saying it must be viewed via wifi then?

Cheers for the info. I don't actually have mine connected to home wi-fi since I last updated firmware, as I have unlimited 3G data anyway :)

But will give it a whirl later

Steve

Before you think of using it with 3G, ensure you have an unlimited data package!

See above :)

(but yes, important for others - you might get a bit of a shock otherwise!)
