Felicia 1.3i lower hose

Featured Replies

Well hello there. I have come across this problem a couple of times now when trying to supply the lower right hand radiator hose on a 1998 Felicia 1.3i. The cars seem to have a couple of feet of rubber hose attatched to a plastic or metal hose that goes under the sump and another rubber hose from that onto the water pump. The picture shows a short right angle rubber hose that goes onto the pipe under the sump and onto the rubber hose to the water pump. Is this a set of modified parts or can you still get the long rubber pipe and if you can does anyone have a part number to save me ringing Skoda in the morning?

Kind regards

Keith ;)

Ah I have found the answer....it seems that Skoda have not put the correct details against the part numbers. It seems that you need to use the hose listed "for air conditioning" when it should say "for power steering" And the picture is totally WRONG dude. I shall find out tomorrow when it arrives.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and it seems like a great place.

I'm tearing my hair out trying to get a replacement radiator bottom hose. The car's a 1996 1.3GLi Felicia (Power Steering and no Air Con). The Skoda agents have twice ordered the wrong hose for me. I think I need the one that "moogmanic" wanted. Has anyone got a part number for it so that I can get hold of one?

It's a longish hose from the bottom of the radiator, about 40mm in diameter. It loops around the oil filter and joins onto a metal pipe under the sump.

There are a couple of picture of it here

Many thanks,

Brian

all the radiator hoses on a felicia are 32mm ID for reference, it's often easier just to buy a length of uiniversal hose from a motor factor and cut it to length rather than buy pre-forned hoses

Managed to get the correct hose in the end.

Yes, asked for hose for the air-con Felica - and yes it fits my non-aircon model.

Part number 6U 0121 051 F

No idea why Skoda don't update their parts list as it all appears to be online at the agents.

Cheers,

Brian

Old posting but I have to change my lower hose on my 1998 1.3 Felicia and I have ordered Part number 6U 0121 051 F  off Ebay a genuine one, one question is it easy to replace I may be 77 I can still craw under the old Felly it seems oil from the pushrod cover has leaked onto the hose and made it a little softer than it should be.

What happened to TEFLON TOM?

As for the record:

i had a similar problem few months ago, when you buy a ''universal'' hose (made in Italy for example) pay attention to the specifications !

Many brands claim that their product is ''for hot water'' but the limit is 90'C if you search it in the factory web site so i am will strongly advise any one who want to buy a radiator hose for his car first of all to search the specifications so the hose can stand 120 'C.

If he puts the 1st radiator hose after a while would be very soft and will get lose in the clamp connection.

Keep also in mind that many Cz-Poland e-shops sell Vika hoses as ''Skoda part" no matter if the VAG number is correct and NO, not all the universal hoses (as they are) can copy the shape of a pre-curved hose.

Vika

Well many parts sadly are on shortage now and only cheapo brands have them aka vika

I have found a genuine VW part on Ebay for car it was a little expencive at £32.

I seem to have another problem not connected to the hose, see my other post you may be of help.

This might be related to the other issue. Show us a photo of the oil leak and leave the hose alone. Don't buy it yet.

Also @mikefelicia - I agree you need to fix the oil leak first, because that's what's scrapped your hose, but you will need to replace this hose before it bursts.

I do not think I can take a picture of the push rod cover with out taking the radiator off what I intend to do is replace the lower hose I have cleaned the area as best I can and then I will monitor the area over the hose in the future the hose I am replacing is not in a critical state but me being what I am if I know something is not right then it has to be put right.

Looking back at my records on the car I see in Nov 2014 the garage replaced the tappet cover gasket and seals also the lower rad hose mileage then was 74,097 so the car has done 24,759 miles since then.
