Blimey! The Fab vRS's been axed!

Featured Replies

I'd be suprised if they axed the Fabia vRS over here, its the fastest selling Skoda at the moment according to recent sales reports from Skoda.

Interesting to see an L&K spec enter the frame... And a very exclusive L&K spec at that. :D

But of course, Mattijs! :D :D

What does the L&K have over Elegance trim - my Dutch isn't very good and Babelfish is only slightly better ;)

Yep, that's the thing, Ross. When I visited the UK in June I had enough material for Was it you? for next four years - there were bl00dy vRS Fabs on every corner of the street!

Whereas in NL the car didn't sell at all. It was Skoda's single most miserable sales failure since the advent of VAG. Thank you, Dutch Skoda importer, for introducing the country's first expensive Skoda...

Babelfish any better in sorting this page?

Oh, alright, I'll give it a go:

- front and rear electric windows

- leather interior

- two additional speakers and tweeters each

- height-adjustable driver's seat

- parking distance control

- side airbags

So that's on top of the cumulated Classic, Ambiente and Elegance specs.

Thats a bizarre arrangement offering the top of the range trim with the most underpowered engines.

Slow moving luxury.

Bump!

The Fabia vRS has just been un-discontinued in the Netherlands - and made even more expensive!

Its consumer price tag is now at 24.9k euros, whereas the similar diesel (but 6-speed) Ibiza FR is only priced at 23.4k!

What are they thinking?

The Fab vRS also has a 6-speed gearbox...

They should've put this engine in the combi I need space! :D

Don't a lot of the cars sold in Holland (and Belgium, for that matter) have small engines? Isn't there a tax incentive to drive a big car with a small capacity motor?

I remember tearing the a**e out of loads of Mercs and BMWs many years ago, when I had a quick tour in a tatty 2.8 Capri...

No, there isn't. You must be confused with Norway...
